Imran Chand Replied on September 28, I’d suggest a firmware update from the manufacturer, but it took a minute to find out Panasonic makes this drive. How satisfied are you with this response? The drivers for all optical drives are generic to the operating system; hence you do not have to install any addition drivers.

Samhrutha G Replied on September 25, They can be realigned however it is usually more economical to replace the drive. In reply to kuhlcrew’s post on September 27, I have a lot to work on. Thanks for marking this as the answer. Whenever I try to find a solution, I end up downloading a driver detector, all of which say my driver is just fine.

I hesitate to mess with firmware unless it’s absolutely necessary. Someone else ordered this computer for me, I know very little about this stuff. I have the same question 8. It is suddenly being finicky about what discs it wants to read. Then work your way through these – remember the drive could be bad, could have a loose cable or slight corrosion on the contacts usually for a laptop and other issues.
Actually, the first 3 times I tried matshtia get it to read the P90X dvd, it said there was nothing in there, but the 4th time it finally recognized it and played it just fine. I took the cd out, and put it in another computer, and was able to view the pictures.
